Art holidays


Art Holidays in Butterfly House are organised once or twice a year, facilitated by qualified and experienced teachers. Butterfly House is ideally suited for art lovers, as it offers fantastic views of the surrounding areas and proximity to attractive sites and inspiring artistic treasures.

The following programme is planned for 2011:


Introduction to painting with watercolour with Anna Sullock BA, an artist with sixteen years teaching experience, from Saturday 14th to Saturday 21st May 2011. The week will include:

  • Establish where individual interests lie and identify the varied needs of tuition
  • Ample opportunity to paint from Butterfly House (magnificent views), its gardens, the village and neighbouring countryside
  • Visit to a local artist, Severino Majkus and his exhibition at Idila
  • Visits to places of artistic interest, including Poreč (Byzantine Basilica), Beram Chapel (15th century frescoes, most famous Dance of Death), Roving, Pula



List of materials needed:

Watercolour box - plastic (lighter in weight)
Large sketchbook and/or small pocket sketchbook
Plastic water bottle i.e. 30ml
Brushes in tin or plastic tube
Pencils of different hard and soft qualities
Camera
